Portland exporters enjoyed a very solid year, in terms of growth and overall variety, during 2014.
The latest report from the International Trade Administration, which is a part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, suggests that the region continues to hold its own on several fronts. All told, the Portland market, which includes Hillsboro and Vancouver, Washington, is the nation's 20th largest export market.
The area exported $18.7 billion worth of goods in 2014. The figure marks a $1.1 billion increase over 2013, good for a 6 percent overall jump.
A full 3,948 businesses in the region exported goods during 2014, according to the International Trade Administration.
