Hurricane Sandy: Economic Effects?

Just days after the natural disaster dubbed ‘Sandy’ hit the East Coast, questions regarding the economic effects have already started circulating.

Although the stock exchange was shut down for the first time since the September 11 terrorist attacks, and billions of dollars worth of damage to homes occurred, this will be offset by the need for repairs and increased activity.

This may be good news for the future, but for the time being, I am keeping everyone affected by this tragic situation in my thoughts.
